Cortland Man Accused of Punching a 72-Year-Old Woman

A 29-year-old Cortland man is accused of punching a 72-year-old woman in the face as she was crossing the street December 1. The woman was with a group of friends when Wegner allegedly approached the women at the intersection of Main Street and Clayton Avenue, said "hi" and punched the victim in the face.

A man who allegedly posted Facebook threats to injure and kill three St. Regis Mohawk Tribal Police officers pleaded guilty this week to two counts of interstate threats to injure another person. Roy Redeye, 39, of Cortland and Akwesasne, faces up to five years in prison, a fine of up to $250,000 and a term of supervised release up to three years.

Cops: Cortland man coldcocked 72-year-old woman who was crossing street

Authorities say a 29-year-old Cortland man who randomly coldcocked a 72-year-old woman crossing the street earlier this month has been identified and arrested. Cortland police said that at about 10:06 a.m. on Dec. 1 officers responded to 88 Main St. in the city of Cortland for a report of an assault.
