Missing Cortland County man found safely in Cortland

A 64-year-old man who went missing from a Family Dollar store in Cincinnatus Monday afternoon was found safely this morning in the city of Cortland. William J. King, a resident at the Rosewood Senior Home, 2724 Lower Cincinnatus Road, Cincinnatus, was last seen at the store around 2:30 p.m. Monday, according to the Cortland County Sheriff's Department.

Cortland man charged with murder in stabbing death of Syracuse native

A Cortland man is facing a second degree murder charge after police say he stabbed a Syracuse man to death in his apartment. Cortland Police officers arrested Randy K. Wilkinson, of 10 Northcliffe Road, on Sunday after Terry Walker, of Syracuse, was found dead in Wilkinson's apartment.

I-81 reopens from Syracuse to Cortland

Interstate 81 south has reopened from the city of Syracuse to Cortland County, the New York State Police said Wednesday evening. The southbound lanes from Interstate 481 were closed around 7:30 a.m. to traffic due to accidents and hazardous conditions, the most problematic of which were two disabled tractor-trailers near Route 20 in LaFayette.

Abandoned Cortland puppy adopted, $1,000 reward offer still in place

The Cortland County SPCA says the puppy found hurt and abandoned in Cortland in November is improving, and has been adopted. SPCA officials say the puppy was found on Greenbush Street in Cortland on November 24 and has been at an area veterinarian's office for the past week.
