Cortland man charged with criminal mischief after Potsdam PD investigates burglary complaint

Village police charged Chad W. Cotterill, 51, of Cortland with fourth-degree criminal mischief and criminal trespass at 3:20 a.m, Saturday after responding to burglary complaint on Waverly Street. Cotterill allegedly unlawfully entered a residence and damaged the door in the process.

Man in jail after breaking into Cortland home, assaulting resident

A 22-year old man is in jail after he broke into a home and assaulted a residence, news reports state. Jonathon T. Foltz, of 16 Mann St.in Auburn, broke into a house on Tompkins Street at 7:00 a.m. Sunday, Cortland police said.

Explosion At SUNY Cortland

SUNY Cortland spokesman Frederic Pierce says the explosion occurred shortly after 7 a.m. Tuesday inside a generator room at the college's new $56 million Student Life Center. Pierce says the workers have been taken to Upstate University Hospital in Syracuse for treatment of what appear to be non-life-threatening injuries.
