Hours before and after last year's Nov. 16 game in Ithaca, things in Cortland got so out of hand that the city had to call in the state Emergency Management Office and state troopers to help control crowds. A crowd of nearly 6,000 filled Clayton Avenue - a long hill lined with old houses that have been converted into student apartments - for a street party that saw cars tipped on their side, students leaping from roofs and furniture thrown into the street.
