Nearly 200 students evacuated from SUNY Cortland dorm after frozen pipe bursts

A frozen sprinkler pipe burst in an eight-story residence hall at State University College at Cortland this morning, forcing the evacuation of nearly 200 students into sub-zero temperatures. The pipe burst above a ceiling on the top floor of Alger Hall on Neubig Road about 6:30 a.m., unleashing water that flooded hallways, stairwells, elevator shafts and some dorm rooms.
