Students evacuate central NY college dorm into subzero cold

Morning classes were canceled because of the cold at the State University College at Cortland, but nearly 200 students had to brave subzero pre-dawn temperatures anyway when a frozen pipe burst and flooded their dorm. A college spokesman says the pipe burst around 6:30 a.m. Monday on the top floor of an eight-story residence hall at the central New York campus.
