Morning classes were canceled because of the cold at the State University College at Cortland, but nearly 200 students had to brave subzero pre-dawn temperatures anyway when a frozen pipe burst and flooded their dorm. A college spokesman says the pipe burst around 6:30 a.m. Monday on the top floor of an eight-story residence hall at the central New York campus.
